WTH! Article In Gun Digest Magazine That Goes Nowhere!

I recently received my March issue of Gun Digest magazine. It was about a simple 2 pronged magazine loader invented by a one armed gent named Ben.

It was written by the like/dislike author Patrick Sweeny, (sp.?), who I mostly like as he tells it like it is...mostly! In the article he raves about The BEML, (Ben’s Easy Mag. Loader). It’s a simple design and to him and to me...brilliant!

Sweeny says he’s going to buy several of them but never gives a link or for that matter not a hint of where to buy them. They’re $12.95 each and I think it’s a bargain if they work as advertised. He even leaves out that this creative gentleman Ben only has a stump for a left arm.

I scoured the net trying to find out how to buy a couple to try out but nada! I finally found Ben’s website through much searching but when you try to buy one, it comes up as not yet available. His site says to please send emails if you want info and I did but alas, to no avail.

Hey Patrick, don’t write this stuff without where to buy and does anyone have any info about this?

I tried to put one in the cart and it said they are not taking payments yet... I bet they are just trying to figure out how many to have made and who is going to make them. As in finding and making a deal with a manufacturer.

I used to subscribe to Gun Digest but I let it lapse several years ago. The articles are just way too long and don't say much. Writers must get paid by the word. Just my opinion.

For those who don't have access to the article, how does this tool work? The website doesn't explain its function.

That’s correct. I tried that first which makes it even more frustrating.

The loader is really simple but creative. It’s a handle with two rounded tipped prongs coming out of it. You push down on the magazine follower with the prongs and slide the rounds down the prongs into the magazine. There’s a video on his site that shows the inventor doing it and he only has one arm and holds the magazine with the stump that’s left of his other.

It’s a handy little thing and at $12.95 is cheap enough. He states it will work with almost any caliber magazine. I thought I’d support the guy by getting a couple.

A small business trying to get a website up and running as well as production to make sure they have the product ready might be taking longer than the owner thought. It looks like he’s getting there.
