Would like to purchase an original Winchester 74 peep sight. Not one that has to have the receiver drilled & tapped but the one that was designed specifically for the 74 and is to be mounted to the rear of the receiver. Thanks in advance.

There is an ebay seller in Boise who has bins of old sights along with tons of other old gun parts. I went to his store and found a stock for an 80 yo 22 rifle. If you want to find him look on ebay and find a seller of gun parts that is from Boise and email him with your needs. Just a thought

Thanks for the heads up. After some searching I found an ebay seller about 10 or 12 miles west just outside of Boise in Meridian. Would that happen to be the guy you were talking about? If so, I'll send him a inquiry.

I think I found the guy today at the gunshow, he's called 'Old Arms of Idaho'. Phone 208602
6027. He has lots of parts

Thanks Chief. I've learned that there is a host of info on these on one of the rimfire web sites. Apparently and unfortunately the model 74 that I have is not configured to accept a Win. 88-A peep sight and I'm not inclined to have mine altered for one. Thanks again for your time and trouble.

I grew up with a 74 Winchester My dad claimed he bought it the same year I was borne in 1937,I kept a lot of rabbits, quail, pheasant and a few ducks on the table. Passed it on to my sisters son a few years ago, Very accurate and very dependable.
