Description
I need a grip frame for an old model three screw with the plunger type trigger spring. Either the XR3 or XR3-RED, I think will work. Needs to be solid with no damage but the finish is not important. I'm restoring an old three screw that hasn't had the best of care. Any help appreciated. Thanks so much...............................Will

Welcome to the Forum!
You are correct in that a XR3 or XR3-RED gripframe will work. If you'd like to get the correct one for that vintage,,, post the serial number,,, or maybe most of it & we can help be a little more accurate. (example; 1234XX or 20-123XX)

Also,,, if you can't find what you seek, there is a way to modify a NM grip frame with a trigger return spring block addition to allow the use of a NM grip frame under an OM.

The revolver has the XR3-RED grip frame, damaged, repairable, but I had rather have an un-damaged, un-repaired one. Serial number 433,xxx, 1965 year. According to the Ruger serial number charts, this is a magnum number but the revolver just has the .22 long rifle cylinder. Thanks so much.........................Will

He thinks mines been repaired? I don't know so I'm not arguing, but he passed on my offering and is still looking. . ..

Will,

Welcome to the forum!

Repaired??? In what way? I've never seen one repaired...they could be, but seldom need it.

Trigger bow seemed to look no quiet right at the bottom as if it had been broke and welded. It's been refinished with some sort of coating, so it's hard to tell. The one I am replacing is broke through on the bow in the exact place. I can get mine welded and refinish it, so I don't need another of the same. Still looking......Thanks

Got one . $70.00 USPMO shipped lower 48

WillH,

You're new to this forum and probably don't know that we work on an honor and reputation system. This is the safest place in the world to buy something; you needn't worry about anything being misrepresented. In fact you can rely on the members' words more than the photos which can be miss-interpreted, but not their words.

Hope that helps,

I don't understand the meaning of the statement; honesty and integrity speak for themselves. ???????????

While this is generally true, take reasonable measures to be assured that you are buying from a "straight up" seller. And, don't ignore your gut. Just IMHO.

foxtrapper,

No, absolutely not. I meant pictures don't always show things as well as the members word. And if a member says for example: a part is in good condition, that member's statement can be taken to the bank regardless of what it looks like in the photo. In other words this forum is not like e-bay or gunbroker, where one has to be wary and suspect of the seller, etc.

Hummmm ..... Newer than many but I have made a few really exceptional buys here... and one that was less than accurate. Hence my caution to the OP, which strands. Thanks for the opinion.
