It might not meet most people’s idea of a great taller front sight on a standard Mark III but I purchased a sample of rigid black ABS plastic (3-7/8” x 3-7/8” x 1/8”) from a seller (Plastics 2000, Modesto, CA) on eBay for $1.49 including shipping and used a scroll saw, etc. to make a sight similar in looks to the original sight but of course taller. When it was in place I used the 1/16” punch needed to take out the sight pin to punch a hole in the new plastic sight. I then installed the pin and added a little orange paint. It might not be as good as a metal sight but it doesn’t look too bad The plastic is a little dull from sanding etc. Now to see how it holds up.
