got a buddy who wants a 44 carbine, doesn't know for sure what he wants so at this point he will take anything except MINE and that is why the posting as my daughter bought mine for me and I can't/won't sell it....please let me know what you got for sale, condition and how much........thanks,Ron

A gun store local to me had one as of a couple weeks ago. It was an older model Deerstalker with tube mag, had a scope on it, coulda been a Leupold or a Simmons I forget exactly. I'd tell your friend to give them a call and just say that someone tipped him off that they had one, they are in Los Angeles but that said they sell things to out of state dealers all the time. Check out their website and give them a buzz if you want to set something up.

EDIT: I called the store on a whim. They still have it: tag describes it as an "early Ruger Deerstalker", has a Leupold scope mounted on it but I believe it still had iron sights on it, when I last looked I remember thinking it was in really nice shape. They want $795 for it; give them a call and ask to talk to Alex or Dan, explain that someone tipped you off about the gun. They will probably offer to arrange an interstate sale for you, they've done it before for other folks though I'm not sure what they'd charge you for shipping/transfer in that instance.

Los Angeles is close to Plymouth, MA....wow..the world is getting smaller.

I got two-
One is a subscription gun 100% orginal. from the Wilson estate at 850+shipping. Thats a model 77/44.
I think maybe your buddy wants a shooter-I have a spare 44 carbine thats whats called a nonprefix gun-only 6 digits in actual great shape with a sling at 500+shipping.
I think both gotta go to a FFL.....????

$500 for a early model in good shape is a super deal here in the mountians. I bought a 1963 model this week for that and felt like I stole it. In the early guns like that Ruger put the deep blue SBH finish combined with walnut wood. They are really handy little rifles that work well on whitetails and black bears.
