any of the "shorter" red and white lettered ,one piece fold-up boxes will work,,,,you just NEED the proper end label for the gun model you want.........as well as the manual 'dated' 1976..... 8) :wink:

Catalog No. NR-4 4 5/8" Bbl
Sturm, Ruger & Company, Inc Southport Conn USA

Serial Number written on the box is 64-12120, which dates it to 1976.

There is no manual. However, there is a Purchaser's Record Card, a Ruger "Old Model" info card & brown waxed paper.

I have $27.61 into it. I would like to get my original cost out of it. Figure about $5 to ship it, depending locale. Interested? PM me with your response.

In my excitement I missed the sr# the first time around 64-12120 is actuality a late 1975 number. But no worries I just happen to have a late 1975 4 5/8" gun sr# 64-11555 so this box is a good find for that gun but the search is still on for a 1976 4 5/8" single six box.
And in case anyone is interested lovemydals is a stand up guy to deal with.

Scored a box off ebay funny thing is the box came with 65-52080 for a SR# my gun is 65-52079
Now to see if the guy still has the gun that came out of that box.
