Wow! I'm a grandpa

Congrats, redhawker! Yep, some fine times ahead! Some of the best times in my life have been shooting with the granddaughters. Enjoy the new chapter, gramps :)

I have 5 grandkids and 2 are boys, but I am going to bet that our littlest one, 7 month old grandaughter, Iris, beats the boys in martial arts and weapons skills one of these days as her momma has her skillz down good. Indigo is 11, has shot the Garand, is interested in the mechanical design and physics of what it can do as much as anything. Zuvuya is almost 4, since he is an ancient Mongol horse warrior reincarnate of some sort based on how onery he is, I suspect serious adult supervision of him with any potential weapon in his hands is warranted. Two other granddaughters are blinged out examples of bad pre teen behavior and modern society bad influences ages 8 and 12 and that one is her own special kind of pain in the ass to the entire family.
Indigo's first fish, 4 1/2lb Channel cat at age 4, his T shirt says "Prehistoric Fishes"

Congrats

3 Grand Kids myself and they are better than the kids

Rough them up, spoil them then go home and let the parents deal with them - all riled up

Love it

Only got ONE; My Grand daughter Caitlin now 18 and wanting some type of medical degree.
She's the center of my heart; loved her from the first moment I laid eyes on her.

Congratulations Redhawker! It looks like you know how to care for the little critters already. As in you had children. 8) Have fun!
gramps who has one grandkid 15, and one 3

Grandkids are even better than their parents were. Grandkids are a parent's revenge and how sweet it is. We just got our third grand child, a daughter, four weeks ago. My daughter and son in law worked hard for that one after three miscarriages. But Stella was born healthy. Everything functioning well.
Today was 'shooting day' as my middle grandchild calls it. He's a nine year old who I've been taking to the range about once a week for the past two year. Getting pretty good now too. He's just barely big enough to handle my .22 Buckmark pistol as well as his .22 Rascal rifle. He really enjoys his shooting day and so do I, probably more than he does.

Most all of them are shooters, including my youngest Daughter, and three are also hunters - the two young Grandsons are a work in progress ;)
