We have picked a winner for our Wounded Warrior deer hunt, his name is Dan Harrison & he's currently serving our country as a United States Marine. He's currently deployed in Estonia....I think thats south of Soda Springs, Idaho!
I will tell a little more about Dan as we work towards his hunt, I will say he's training our US snipers right now & is recovering from injuries he recieved while in combat, quite a story!
Many of you have offered to help & its greatly appreciated. I believe his wife will be accompanying him. If you would like to make a donation towards Dan's non-resident tag, expenses, etc you can send it to, Steve Call (Callshot)
250 Court St.
Soda Springs, Idaho 83276

Again, this is a free hunt, I am not an outfitter & can't/won't accept any money for my part.

Thanks to all of you, Dick

I believe Estonia is a little ways north of Soda Springs; well, at least it's northeast of West Jordan.

Check's in the mail to Callshot.

A BIG salute to you Dick, and all those involved for this GREAT idea ! Check will be sent out !

I too will get a check out to help this young man. We look forward to may more details over the next several months!

Sixshot, thanks for doing this. Your wounded warrior will probably have a a great experience he'll never forget. A contribution is on the way today to callshot.

Thanks to each of you who have donated to Dan's hunt, we've even received donations from people who are out of work, amazing! Great people all of you who are helping out, thanks again.

Dick

I have sent a private message to all those who have sent in money so they know that it has arrived. Yesterday Mrs. Betty ask if she could put some money in for this. She had her fiance get killed in Viet Nam before I met her. I think that she would qualify for helping with this hunt. There are soo many veterans that can use our help. Thank you all. Steve

Steve, over on singleactions.com we are working on funds to get our chosen Wounded Warrior his own Callshot special. I will update you later with a link!

If you havent yet become a part of this project, Callshot is taking funds for the hunt itself, and I am collecting for the Wounded Warrior Sixgun portion. Many thanks for taking the time to read this..... :D

A little update on our Wounded Warrior hunt. Daniel & I have been exchanging emails quite often & getting to know each other a bit. He will be home from the Balkans in June, his wife is awaiting his return in California. I think I mentioned it once but his wife actually owns some acreage here in Soda Springs, I thought that was amazing! She said she hasn't seen it since she was a little girl, it was left to her by a relative.
Daniel has been training military personel overseas even though he has additional surgeries scheduled. He loves serving his country & told me today he is just overwhelmed by everyone's generosity.
Because there's been so much talk about this on the different forums we knew it would only be a matter of time until he found out about a sixgun thats being donated with money from different forum members.
Fermin came up with the idea & its a done deal thanks to him. A Ruger Bisley flattop is in the works & will go to Daniel through the proper FFL channels. When I received Daniels email this morning he admitted to not being able to hold back the tears when he read about the sixgun.
Last thing, a good friend on one of the other forums said that his wife knows Daniel & said that he is truly a great guy...we picked a winner!
Again, thanks for the donations that are still coming in.

Dick

Thanks for the updates! Too bad you couldn't give him the surprise gun w/o his prior knowledge, but I'm sure he'll be emotional anyway.
It does sound like you truly picked a winner!
