The last year that I set up at the Mansfield Gun Show was November 2020.
People had money and they were buying. As I was dealing with two gentlemen, when a man & woman walked up to the end
of one of my tables with what appeared to be a boxed Ruger. I excused myself from the two men looking and ask the guy
if I could help him. He had a OM BKH-34 and he wanted to sell it for $550.00, I looked it over & did not argue I just paid the man and put the gun under the table. As I was walking back to the other two guys his wife ask me if I wanted the other box too? I ask you mean the shipper? She replied yes and said she would go to the car and get it.

I was finishing up with the two men when she came back with it, I ask her to lay it on my chair and thanked her.
I sat down to take a better look at the gun and note it, when I flipped the shipper over and seen who it was addressed to I just smiled.

Jimmy Dean spelled his name with a "Y". The shipper, Kim Richardson could be the famous author, otherwise I am stumped.

Well, I just discovered I'm wrong.

Apparently there is a Jimmie Dean Hoobler who is a serious Ruger collector. I feel like a dunce now!

nice, and a neat play on names guys did that all the time .like Jerry Lee , would have to ask Jim Hoobler ,who used to be the casting plant guy I dealt with but I ain't seen him since Tulsa years ago and lost contact when me phone broke taking Laura to the ER last year and I lost ALL my phone numbers /contacts and now too busy taking care of her......

Jim Hoobler & John Dougan together co authored the book GREAT WESTERN ARM's COMPANY...an excellent book!!
Yeah he knows a thing or two about Rugers also..

Interesting. 119454 appears on Bob's List, noted "Numbered box, papers, shipper, et al."

It seems to me I added that gun to The List somewhat recently, as well, but I can't prove it.

The box is not numbered, it has the correct manual & the stub from the warranty card.
I checked with you to see if it was on the list just lately. Well at least now your record can reflect that info.

When you inquired on 19 April I checked and found the gun on The List, described as “numbered box, papers, et al." I have no idea when it was originally entered, bearing this description.

You advised that it was accompanied by the shipper, so I revised the description to "numbered box, papers, shipper, et al."

Now you advise that the box is not numbered. This is how gun descriptions get “revised” over time. I’m sure Bob is grinning right now.

I will revise the description to remove “numbered” from the box to read "box, papers, shipper, et al." “Papers” refers to the manual and warranty card stub.

You agree this is correct at the present time?
