Thinking about purchasing a Ghost Ultimate while waiting for my gun to get repaired. Ive read bad and good things, any information you fine gentlemen might have would be greatly appreciated...ie...does it even work and is it worth the trouble to install it

Mine will be here any day. From what I gather the Ultimate does in fact lower the weight, but normally after a couple hundred dry fires or rounds. To achieve the advertised pull weight, some polishing of the internals is required, but it seems to be pretty minor. Some say it relieves the gritty feel (which I have  ), but others say it simply makes the trigger lighter. All in all, it seems like a decent way to spend $28.95 (shipped).

What "bad" things have you heard? Are there actually any negative effects to installing the trigger bar?

no i wasnt referring to bad things as negative affects, and i havent heard of any. Just more or less ive read a few threads where its been installed and no noticible improvement, still gritty and not any lighter. I know its only 28 dollars but id hate to waste my time and money if it doesnt work.

I have one in my SR9c. It makes the pull lighter; not certain whether it's as light as 3.5# or not. I doubt it. The pull is still a long, raspy one. Once I get past the first nasty raspy part of the pull then it finally comes to an end and stacks up and then breaks nicely. But it's a while getting there.
Yes, I would buy it again. I also have one in my Glock 26 and it's great.

What about for concealed carry and the gun off safe, would anyone here trust it?

i checked out their website and it says it doesnt void the ruger warrenty therefore i wouldnt have any problem trusting it with gun loaded and off safe.

LOL ... yeah, right ... You may get a different response asking Ruger that same question ......

I don't think it would help their sales much if their website said .... 'Please note that the installation of this trigger will void your Ruger factory warranty' ...

i guess the only way to find out for sure would be to call ruger directly. I am very curious to find out, if it voids the ruger lifetime warrenty im definitly not going to purchase it, although i would be smart enough to install the old part before sending my gun in thats for sure

I could see them charging you to fix the SR9 if there was a problem and it was Ghost's part's fault (they'll probably put a stock part back in and not return the Ghost part). However, if you do have it installed and there is a problem that might be related to the Ghost Trigger, especially if it develops immediately after it's install, call Ghost! From what I've read and experienced first hand (just in ordering), they seem like they're a small business, but with Customer Service to match or better what Ruger can do. Don't send them your pistol! Just explain and you'll probably get a new part no questions asked.

Any part that modifies the workings of anything should and most definitely will void any warranty. Ruger doesn't really come forth and say that there is a warranty. They do offer good and reasonable service no matter what we seem to do to these things, our fault or not. If it's their gun and their parts that aren't working, they'll fix it....or try to do so.

If you want the Ghost Connector, get it. If you start having problems down the road, try swapping back to the Stock Connector. If the problem persists, call Ruger. If it goes away, go back to the Ghost and if it comes back, call Ghost about it. Just my .02

well ordered the ghost ultimate this morning, ill see firsthand what if anything it will improve. I guess if i want to know if it works theres no better way then to test it myself !!! jhearne have you put one in yours and if so what is your opinion ?

I ordered the Rocket and I just got it about an hour ago in the mail at work. Will be trying to install tonight but I've heard a lot of good positive reviews on it. A couple reports have been kinda meh, but for the most part enough to warrant looking into myself. Seems like a solid product that works, with above average customer service.

Keep in mind that with the tolerances and variations in trigger pulls between SR9s that you probably won't see 3.5 lbs of pull exactly, but it should lower it noticeably.

I installed a short throw shifter on my car a few years back before I sold it. After installation I went through the gears (to test function with the car off) and really couldn't tell a difference. I got on the highway and gave it a go and 1st to 2nd was unreal at how different and better it was. I know dry firing is very similar to actually firing but, I'm curious to see if the noticed difference is the same when Live or Dry firing the SR9 after installation.

just food for thought jhearne, ive been to a few glock forums and they are basically saying what you are saying... they are installing the part, not feeling much of a difference dry firing, but noticing a real improvement at the range. now i know were talking to different makes, glocks and rugers, so it may be totally different for the sr9. anyhow good luck with your installation, hope all goes well :)

Installed a Ghost Ultimate; liked it a lot. Not 3.5# but definitely lighter. Would like to try out the Rocket someday for an overtravel stop.
