Hawkeye from your link and the one Buckeye sent it looks like 1916 is the year. From what little I know of the history of the rifle this is probably correct. Thanks to both of you.

According to the horse's mouth (Winchester), your rifle was made late in the Summer of 1915.

GREAT; I've got one of those built in 1916/1917 that use to belong to my Grandfather; He used it for deer hunting. GREAT rifles and accurate.
