That's about as "soft" a picture, as I have ever seen! Hope you know what I'm trying to say, I think its the pastel's in the back ground,,just melts together. super pic.

Terry, I know and appreciate what you are trying to say but a 'soft' photo to a photographer is one that is out of focus. I really think that it is a better than average photo, In fact I really like it and Thank You ! Dr.C

What I think Terry is trying to say is the "Bokeh" is perfect!!! Bokeh is is the blur, or the aesthetic quality of the blur, in out-of-focus areas of an image. Bokeh has been defined as "the way the lens renders out-of-focus points of light!" And as terry points out, your bokeh is perfect and very pleasing to the eye. Keep up the good work.

Doc, fantastic shot. Refresh my memory - is this a male in fall colors? I think I saw one once, in Raleigh NC, in spring. I recall a darker black patch on the head, but I haven't birded much in recent years.... (though I did 'psssh' a Black'n'White to within 10' this afternoon - one of my faves)...
