Yeah... I've seen some of Willie's earlier stuff and it's always interesting to see him in that context. Just shows ya that what's on the outside sure doesn't show what's on the inside!

Yeah I remember willies old pictures :lol: he was pretty well clean cut till the 70's when he and Waylon started their outlaw thing, and Willie said he only grew his hair long to piss the red necks off. :lol:

Back in the 50's Willie worked for KVAN radio in my neck of the woods. Him and his wife Martha shared a duplex with our family for a time. We didn't know he would be famous some day. I have lots of Willie stories from them days.... 8) We saw him often even after he moved to another house. His wife and my Mom remained friends for many years, even after their divorce.

That's cool Dave. Any pics. from then? Would be very interesting. I watch a program on PBS called Antiques Roadshow and it is amazing some of the pictures and memorabilia that come up on there of very famous people in their younger days. Especially during the 50's and 60's when musicians, painters and writers were trying their best to make it. Living wherever they could afford.

Karl, we have a few pics and other memorabilia. Will have to rummage through my Dad's stuff. I have a record he recorded here in Vancouver, WA. I know one side is a piece called "The Lumberjack Song". I will check to see what we have.....
