Old age strikes again;I awakened at around 0330 CST. I always go on the web after making a cup of coffee...woo hoo! I love the smell of coffee in the morning;it reminds me of....well...it doesn't and I can't smell very well anymore, lol.

Yeah, the dogs woke me at 0320. I don't feed till 0400 & 1600. I have been put out to pasture early, cause I was too damn efficient orienting the brand new nurses. Oh well! Looking at a job in Nashville that maybe I can telecommute! Yay!

Grouch Attack woke me up @ 4:30 as she was leaving for work and I couldn't go back to sleep. Current part time job doesn't start until 9am so I've got quite a while to piddle away. I'd just as soon start at 7 but the Ramrod doesn't get around that early. That's why he hires old guys like me- lonely, bored, and in need of a little spending money so we put up with the late starts and after supper time endings. Oh well, got a couple of things to prepare for mailing if we finish before PO closes.

I was up at 6:00. Most days I am awake at 5:30-6:00. Not saying I get out of bed, but I AM awake. I have always been an early riser. The wife, on the other hand, could sleep all day if she didn't have somewhere to go. I cannot understand how anyone can sleep that long. I have found that naps are nice!

Thankfully, those days are over for the most part. It took me about 3 yrs to learn to sleep in after I retired. Now I stay up until midnight and get up around 7:30,...except for the intermission at about 3:00.....

I was up. Dozed off in my chair around 1:45AM with an open exacto knife on my chest. Woke up at 4:15AM (EST), finished cutting the stencil I was working on, then went to bed about 4:40. Up at 7:30.

I've been getting 4 hours sleep a night the last month or so.

"..except for the intermission at about 3:00....."

ah yes, the enchanting tours Mr. Bladder demands periodically

Rural skies at various times are spectacular this time of year.

Not me with any luck. :D
I spent a few days in hospital recently. Talk about messing with your sleep routine. For a few days I wondered if I would ever sleep again.

I was up for a bathroom visit, back up at 0430 to get ready for my drive into work. Loaded my seabag and backpack into my truck my Bride had me a couple of double egg sandwiches ready, ate them. Left home at 0600 to going back to work. 28 days and counting till I see her again. About the same routine for the last 36 years. Made crew change in Port Fourchon, La at 1130 Started my 12 hr shift at noon.

Loading 8000 barrels of 16lb Super Salt Drilling Mud right now. Ready for midnight arrive so I can get some sleep. Just 28 more days.

I've found over the years leaving home and wife behind for a month or so doesn't get any easier but it's sure good to know you have steady work and paycheck.

As hard as I worked at home redound the eaves of our home. I really had to come to work to get some rest!
