That's a neat shot, Doc. You caught him in an interesting pose.
I like the iridescent colors on these birds' feathers. We have a migratory bird refuge about 20 minutes from my house, where I took my family last weekend to see what we could see. There were dozens of these, plus killdear, American avocets, red-winged and yellow-head blackbirds, plus a few others.
I understand their faces and beaks are only white like that during courting.
