What's wrong with this picture ?

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!

That must be the rifle the sniper always uses in TV and movies, where you see the sniper's eye REAL BIG in the objective lens....

"Lipstick on a pig" comes to mind.... a Unertl scope on a gaudily engraved, cheap single shot.

Look at the scope in relation to the plane of the barrel. I looks like the front of the scope or the end that's closest to the front sight is way out of line with the barrel. Looks like it's maybe a half inch or five eighths of an inch higher than the other end.

That scope is mounted backwards isn't it?

Yes it is, as are the mounts. Often used to simulate long range shooting with limited space. ;)

I did see people show up with guns/scopes like that when I worked at the range. It was tough not laughing, while trying to help them. Always made me feel a little sad for them.

What did they do to that poor Savage 219?

I missed that it was 'bakerds'... I was too busy trying to figure out the shock absorber spring on the thing.... tant' never seen one of those before.... do you need one of those on a supped up 22?

Those are actually very nice scopes Blume. (when mounted properly...) It's a Unertl with external adjustments.

Yup - as target scopes go, those are top-shelf.

My thoughts exactly. I didn't look at the price but if it 's cheep enough that scope would be the correct scope and right at home on an 03A4.

Not correct scope for an 03A4 at all. Though I think the Marines had some 03 sniper rifles with that scope or something like it. But these were NOT 03A4s.

Evidently you haven't read all of this thread. We already established that fact.

I thought we established that fact much before your post. I knew it in the first pic. so don't be so first to pick on a person. The big end was towards the eye??? To put it laymans terms. Don't be mad at me, just pointing out a fact. By the way I am using your words.

Yes Cary your right, He asked a ?, I looked at the picture and replied. I'm sorry. I guess I should of read all the posts.

I don't know what you're being so uppety about. I never said that it was on backwards. In fact, I asked the question about it being on backwards. CAS was the first to actually state that it was on backwards.

I meant what I said when I figured that Rich e had probably not read the entire thread so I pointed out the fact that it was on backwards. What is the problem with that?

I didn't see you jumping in on the thread anywhere to state that the scope was on backwards. Your first post was to jump on me. You need to relax a bit.

Actually the first three responses were smart aleck "it's on backwards" responses.* Long before it was clearly stated. I know for a fact the second one was, and I assume that 1 and 3 were implying the same thing.

* as were #6 and 8.

Of course they were, that's what I meant, but CAS was the only one to come right out and say it. don't know much about those loooooooooong scopes like that myself. That's why I asked the question. I only have 4 scoped rifles myself. All with regular looking scopes.

But, who cares anyway, I merely told rich e that apparently he hadn't read all of the thread and it was cleared up that the scope was on backwards. He apparently knew what I meant and seemed to take it the correct way.

737tdi is the only one who got somewhat bent out of shape over it.

What impresses me the most is someone would actually advertise their products on a forum while conducting themselves in such a poor manor. Why on earth would anyone do business with a person like that? What amazes me more is none of this makes any sense to you Cary. Now take your time, take a deep breath and if you feel a response is warranted than do so in a civil manor. Or you could go the other way and get another thread locked in the same week.

You are correct about #1.

I didn't want to spoil the joke for everyone else too soon.

Snake, we have a customer that's into the 03's big time and he has an A4 that he bought surplus years ago with that exact scope on it .I've shot the damn thing .So there were some as issued A4's out there with that scope on them .

He might want to show that rifle and tell that story to Bruce Canfield. He might help write new history. Until then, that story is screwed up somewhere.
