Regardless of the manufacturer, straight stocks are reported as less numerous than pistol grip stocks. I was led to believe that's the case with the Gold Labels, too.
The only Gold Label I've seen in person was my own, with a straight grip stock. Most of the pictures I've seen of other Gold Labels are also of straight grip stocks.
So I guess the answer is, I dunno. Although I will never shoot a Gold Label that I might own, a straight grip is my preference. But since I've never seen the pistol gripped version, that is intriguing.

I have always been led to believe that the Pistol grip variety is the scarcest. I have seen quite a few Straight Grip stocks but only a handful of the Pistol Grip variations.

Lots and lots of straight gripped ones out there compared to the pistol grips.
My understanding from some folks who would know such things, is that there were "Many more guns made with the English style(straight) stock". I believe it....and the observations of many Gold Labels bare that out.

My Gold Label has the pistol-gripped stock because my brother gave it to me for a retirement gift (how's THAT for brotherly love?) and he knew I don't like straight stocks on shotguns. He got himself a straight stocked one "just because" (he's not a shotgunner) and I believe he paid around $1500 each for them in 2005.
Mine ISN'T a safe queen; first shot ever with it killed a big old Upstate NY cock pheasant! I only use it on days when it isn't pouring (lots of those in Southern CA, too darn many!) and when the terrain is relatively flat--I've heard horror stories about guys falling and whacking those thin muzzles with choke tubes on a rock. An expensive fix.
So what's it worth? Can you put a price on something like this? I wouldn't--it's going to my younger son when I move on to that great gunshop in the sky....
