What is OP

Original PostER of that topic.

AKA topic starter.

If you scan unread posts everyday you'd see where Kevin asked for the feature to be added so when on page 13 of a topic we could see who we were really answering. Within a few days, the feature appeared.

But the acronym OP has always been used on forums since the beginning ... only now the "OP" is labeled for our reference.
 
You will often see OP mentioned in replies as well. It is a short way to reference the original post(er) without using their "handle" (nickname)

If that is so then why does;t every post have that on the original poster? I started this post and here is no 'slash OP' on my avatar
