What is it?

Got a big box of stuff at an auction, it had a lot of misc Ruger stuff in it. At the bottom though this item was laying there. I have no idea what it is. Any guesses?

Good point, didn't think about that. The added piece would be a grab hold to pull it taut while you lock it in place.

Kinda like a "slip knot" device, if it is what I think it is. Slide it up the line til you get the tension you want and then it "locks" on the line.

It is used to keep a Ruger Single Six from jumping out of your hand! It looks like a tie down for something, feeds through the top hole into bottom hole and placed in the tie holder slot

I guess you could install lanyard loops on your pistols and use it for a lanyard.
