What IS important?

I was reading the 'news' this morning and noticed that a big 'issue' is being made about Bristol Palin being pregnant. I was wondering what is so special about that? I also wonder just how many other ladies are in the family way today? I know that my granddaughter is but I haven't seen her name in any news posts. What IS important in daily life today? I sometimes wonder.

You are right, mainstream media shovel us 3ft deep in useless doodoo. I'm an American, I do not believe in royalty, nor put anyone on pedestals, as in I could care less what happens to this poor celeb, or the other, or "sports star" or.. In the case you mentioned, its the further slurring of the Palins.

Her pregnancy reported is a total waste of time, resources, media space

No one seems to care about the thousands of women learning the same info yet somehow the media sees this as worthy

Total B.S.

My only complaint is it wasn't me that done the job. :( OK. I'm a dirty old man but at least I'll admit it.

There's a slew of magazines out there that are full of advertisements and stories about celebrities and others we are supposed to know and care about. As far as I'm concerned, if everyone who appeared in those rags were to disappear, it would have zero effect on the fate of the world.

Yep! You can include all the athletes that get paid millions too. IMO

And yet the three guys most responsible for the invention of Viagra as all but unknown. :)

The Queen of England was impressed enough with Viagra to award Knighthood to the Brit. Sad that his first name was not Richard.

The big deal -- not to me, but to those who are breathlessly reporting it -- is that over the past few years after her first pregnancy she as made big $$ lecturing young women on abstinence.

I Love reading the covers of them scandal magazines right at the grocery check out; I'm STILL waiting for Bill Clinton to die as they reported he was doing six months ago (maybe Hillary was a bad shot ??); I cant recall all the others BUT they are entertaining while waiting for them to finish checking out your shopping !!

Yet another distraction, so you won't notice that the world is now on fire and King Hussein and the Hildebeast both reek of gasoline....

Tammy Bruce just noted: "If Bristol Palin were a hypocrite, you'd have never known she was pregnant."

Excellent point.

There are multiple stories in the news EVERY DAY.

Maybe it's dense in here this evening, but your point escapes me. :?

YOU called it a 'distraction SO YOU WON'T NOTICE'.... (presumably planted for that purpose).

I pointed out that there are countless news items every day.

Perhaps not an intentional, planted distraction, but just news!
Your point, whatever it is, is still elusive. I honestly don't know if you're agreeing with me or mocking me.

But I'm beginning to suspect you're one of those guys who likes to argue with people, about any topic, just to try to demonstrate your imagined intellecual superiority. Such people eventually get around to boring me, and I suspect you might have already crossed that line.

If you're still confused, I can't help you.

If fact and logic bore you, I can't help with that either.
I think a reasonably bright 7-year old could make the observation that "there are countless news items every day." It's a fact, and might even be considered "logical," but makes no point. It's certainly not profound in any way.

I'm done. Good Day to you, sir.
