I have an older Ruger model 77 in 338. Made befre Ruger started cutting slots in the action. I am trying to mount a Burris eliminator but can not do so unless I have a pictinany rail. Does some make a rail that I could use?

any 'basic' curved bottom rail can be made to work....just match up the hole pattern thats on the gun, and if need be, drill NEW ones in the mount (rail) measure TWICE ,drill once.........
look through the selection of mounts (rails) in the Brownells catalog, they may have a listing for the M-77

Any remington 700 base should work. Never used a one piece but know for sure the two piece units work. Hole spacing is the same but offhand don't know if the overall length on the one piece bases will match up.

Yep a lot of guns have used the same pattern as Remington over the years. Easier to sell a gun if a base is readily available instead of waiting for the base companies to make something that fits.

Just an additional two cents...either the one piece or two piece Remington 700 bases will fit a Ruger Round Top. Good luck.
