Wendys fast food

I know nothing specifically about this, but I can tell you that the profit margin in food service is small, and there is no way Wendy's could stay in business if it gave away 25% of its profits. I call it internet BS.
Used to like Wendy's. First their sandwiches seemed to go downhill and weren't as good. Then they changed thier marketing and made every burger a cheeseburger. Go in and ask for a plain single or double and you got a cheeseburger unless you also remembered to tell them no cheese. If I wanted a cheeseburger I would say cheeseburger instead I needed to remember to say Plain no cheese and hope they made it that way. It was easier to just go somewhere else that had burgers I liked better.

Carls Jr and Wendy's are (or used to be) quite conservative businesses. I dare say that any for profit company shelling out 25% of its profits to ANYONE should be regarded with a healthy dose of skeptical!

At McDonalds there is a big sign that if you want more than one dipping sauce for your nuggets you pay an extra quarter, but I ask for no sauce I don't get a discount. Getting you to pay for something that you don't get is probably their whole profit margin.
My biggest pet peeve with fast food restaurants is the horrific amount of salt they put on the french fries, I like salt as much as the next guy, but I don't need to have my lips bleeding from it. Ed

I stopped going to Wendy's a few years back over a tomato they put on my burger, it was solid green not a sign any of red to it, they flat out refused to replace the burger or refund my money.
so my next step was calling their complaint line thought they might make things right, nope all they did was piss me of more with a empty meaningless apology, their exact words were " were sorry and hope your next experience will be better next time you visit our store" :?
My response was next time? you really think there will be a next time? there will be no next time!!!
I was still shocked even their complaint line did nothing to make it right or even offer to do anything, so since my last experience as they called it I never went back nor will I ever.
I know I'm nothing to them and they couldn't careless if I ever went back, that's the sad thing these kind of places don't care about anyone, so I don't care to patronize them.

I like their chili, especially when the crackers are fresh. The one nearest me has Mr. Pibb. No In and Out or Carl's Jr. here in the Northeast.
That rumor sounds bogus. Dave Thomas has been gone for some years, and by and large corporate suit types avoid controversial issues. Plus it seems to me that fast food chains tend to get a more working class crowd who are somewhat more pro RKBA.

I never cared for McD's, or Wendy's. Carl's Jr when it was known as Hardee's had good food. First they changed the fries, then the burgers. Sucks.
We have a local ice cream chain here called, Braum's. That is where I get my burgers now.
In-n-Out is moving into the area now. Will have to give them a try.
Lots of mom and pop burger joints around here that are good. And, they fix your burger the way YOU like it!

Yeah, 5 Guys is probably as good or even sightly better then In-n-Out but for those prices I can go up the street to Norms and get a 3/4 pound T-Bone Steak. Went to 5 Guys once out of curiosity but the prices will keep me away.

I gave up Burger King after one Sunday Morning when AFTER having to wait almost 10 minutes in the
DRIVE THRU lane, I complained and the ugly manager got all PISSY and said "we don't Have to serve you" and I told her to go F*** off because I would NEVER buy one of their burgers again. I had also mentioned that I had SEEN THREE vehicles behind me give up and pull out of the lane.

Just about all food places... fast food and fine food.... refills are free on drinks. So when dining in, I buy the smallest and just keep refilling it. :wink:
In my area, McD's and Sonic have "happy hour". At Sonic soft drinks are half price between 2-4 PM. At McD's you can get any size drink you want for $1.

Yes fries make all the difference they are very good they cut their own fresh potato's and deep fry them in peanut oil, one thing that keeps their fries from being great is they don't peal the potato's, I don't like the skin on flavor as well, they can keep their over priced burgers they are very average.

The American original of the drive-through restaurant is something else. As someone who traveled 35-40 weeks per year for a couple decades, I quickly swore off eating out of a paper feed bag. Its just not right.
Going inside fast-food places was even worse, as it allowed me to watch the minimum-skilled kids sneezing and coughing in the prep areas. Not that the same thing doesn't go on in higher-end kitchens, but I just can't force myself to do it. Given that, my cousin managed several Wendy's restaurants, and I was impressed at the way they demand their beef is handled throughout the system. But still...
I digress. This is still major thread drift from the OP. I can change...

Now there is plenty about the finger that was found in the chili or about Chick-fil-A's charitable donations but those are different stories altogether. :shock: :shock:

The best burgers I ever had is at a lil place called simply, the sandwich shop, run by a group of baptist ladies for the church, 1/4 lb burger with fries and a 16 oz drink 4.75 and fixed right on very fresh buns and taste just like the ones of yesteryear like they should. The price even includes cheese if you want. It is located on the south side of Gastonia, NC, west of Charlotte . Oh they do have or varieties also. Worth the stop if you are in Gastonia.

When you are a young kid out on your own for the first time and really, really, tight on money, sometimes the best meal in town is a hamburger and fries with a cup of soup from the local diner. ...and it doesn't matter if the cook has an accent or the place isn't the cleanest. Man my mouth is watering now.
