It's happened at Best Buy with computer parts also. And a company that I worked at making computer parts actually got the Chinese govt. to shut down 2 "manufactures" that were making clones of our parts and getting them into the distribution centers. We didn't know anything about it until CDW and Ingram Micro had a bunch of cards to replace, and none of the serial numbers came up in our systems. They were both Authorized dealers.

Apple found out years ago some of the Chinese manufacturers actually make contacts for say a million air pods or such. Then make 2 million " off brand" or illegal clones all in the same plant. Sometimes to the same specs sometimes not. Makes it all the more confusing....
