New to the Ruger MkIII, but what is the advantage of the Volquartsen trigger? The stock trigger on my slabside seems quite nice, so I'm just curious as to what benefits the Vol brings. I think I have seen it may be lighter, and adjustable, but is that really enough to justify the cost over stock? Just curious.

Thanks,

John

Lighter, crisper, and adjustable for travel in both directions.

The difference between the stock trigger and the VQ trigger is night and day.... but you need to install the VQ hammer and sear as well to really take advantage of what the trigger has to offer.

Do they sell the who thing in a kit, or is it multiple kits? Sorry, I can't get to their site at work and check myself? Also, what is the MSRP for such kit? Having been baptized in fire with having to take apart the entire gun to remove a stuck mag, I don't think this would be all that difficult to install now that I am familiar with how everything goes back together. I know when I replaced the trigger on a few of my other guns, you are quite correct in that the feel is a lot different. I just didn't think the trigger was all that bad though in comparison to other manufactures.

Thanks for the info.

John

Here it is as a complete kit.... includes an extended bolt release.... I don't see the need for that particular item, though.

I noticed today that you can send your frame to Volquartsen and have them install their trigger/sear/etc. part for only $45, and send it back to you, without involving an FFl transfer. I think I'm going this route...

Unless you really know what you are doing I would strongly recommend sending your gun to Volquartsen. When you receive it back you will think that you have a completely different pistol!

I have a MK2 made by Volquartsen with all but the action and frame made by them. It certainly was not cheap, but in my opinion just as good as the much more expensive European made .22 match pistols.
Unfortunately it shoots a lot better than me!
