Volquartsen trigger kit for Ruger Mark IV

I recently purchased a Volquartsen trigger kit for my Ruger mark IV. After installing it I went to the range to try it out. Right from the start I was getting so many misfires I was sure I installed the kit wrong. I called Volquartsen for some tech help and they said it was probably the original firing pin.They sent me a new Volquartsen firing pin and that was it.I put 80 rounds thru it today and not one misfire.

They probably should make the firing pin part of the kit. They have given several firing pins away due to this issue. I left the stock hammer in mine with everything else Volquartsen including the firing pin. Works great. Glad you got her fixed up.

I have a complete VQ action kit in my MkIV and it worked 100% with the factory firing pin. I did substitute a TandemKross Ti firing pin later due to factory pin breakage issues but that made no difference in reliability

The engineers involved with the Ruger Mark IV have done everything they could think of to thwart any modification being done to these pistols. If they would have discontinued the Ruger Mark III and then gone back to selling newer variations of the Mark II, they would have been far better off in my mind. Case in point: The recall involving the safety to sear hookup.

I'm getting very close with I would consider a final modification of the Mark IV internals. What I'd like to end up with is a Mark IV with the original internal parts "modified" to produce at least a 3-pound trigger, absent the magazine disco. The magazine disco hinders what can be done to some of those parts without destroying it.
