Samsung has come right out and said it. If you have a TV with voice command, watch what you say. Same warning goes for anything else that can transmit what you say. Like most modern cars, for example.

Yea, I could imagine asking your lady friend if her husband was on to you could end up being rather interesting. Oh wait, I'm not that paranoid.
I'm not going to talk to inanimate objects the old lady all ready thinks talking to my dog is strange enough, I'll stick to my remote, I do consider stealing your voice Recognition and sending it to a third party in violation of my rights to privacy as well as theft.
Funny how these liberal electronic companies are always trying to find more ways to violate your constitutional rights, and attempt to destroy your liberty.

Some gizmos people expect will violate their privacy; computers, cell phones, etc. But they don't expect their TV, car, or refrigerator to rat them out. :shock:
I'm not so sure the new voice command GPS units couldn't eaves drop.
Recently my wife bought a new voice-command GPS for her car. When I first turned it on, it had little advertising icons on the map, suggesting different restaurants, gas stations, and whatever else might be an attraction. When clicking on any of these icons for directions, the GPS would ask for a multiple-choice review of the establishment. So that tells me there's definitely two-way communication within the GPS. Combine that with the voice-command capability, and it's not too far fetched to think that we could be listened to from within our vehicle.

Seems like I read somewhere a while back that there are some TV's with camera's built in them for no purpose but to watch people and spy on them to get their reactions to what they were watching.
I remember some weird guy at work about 20 years ago he was telling me one day he covers up his TV when not watching it cause spirits could see him through the screen when it wasn't on. :lol:
Now days that don't seem so far fetched but it's not spirits that are watching you.

I cure most of those exposures by having a TV hooked up to an antenna,
GPS turned off in my cell, and use an IR remote for the TV.
a.k.a. ZERO voice commands.
I figure if you are too lazy to push a few buttons, you don't need it.
(I've all but worn out the mute button on the TV remote)

Glad I haven't yet reached that level of paranoia. If they want to watch me, go ahead. The poor SOB will die of boredom real quick.
