I am getting little circular green arrows attached to topic headers. I can't seem
to get rid of them. Is anyone else? When I roll over them they display bad selfies.

Nope don't see it looks like you got a virus of some sort, I would run system restore right now to restore your system back to what is was before this virus and also run your anti-virus program scan to remove the virus or malware, anti-virus programs don't always stop virus's and malware from getting in your system but should remove them when you run a scan.

Hi,

Cooperhawk, I have something like that happen now and then, despite the fact the anti-virus/anti-malware software says the machine's clean. In my case, so far at least, the solution's been to check the cookies, delete anything that's got the word "ad" or "google" in it, then do a restart on the browser. As I said, it's worked so far!

If you're using Firefox, Addblocker plus, Noscript and Better Privacy are Mozilla add-ons that are a must. I also use Malwarebytes. CCrapcleaner is another free download from Piriform that has worked well for me.

McAfee and Malewarebytes both updated this morning and the problem went away. I had done some research on it and was in the process of removing them when it happened.

Okay, I spoke too soon. They just came back. Here's what I found to get rid of them if anyone else has the problem.

I do scroll through my Add/Remove programs files quit often to make sure no programs were added I didn't put there, companies like Google and others try to add crap all the time if you don't watch your files so I made it a habit to check.

Another item is to go into Preferences and under:
~ Security - Check "Warn me when sites try to install. . . . "
~ Advanced - Check "Tell me when a website asks to store data. . . . . . "

Both of those help . . . a LOT. :D

Take care when deleting cookies that you click on "Remove Selected"
rather than "Remove All" next to it. I've done THAT by accident.
