My son may sell his Vaquero[old model,original model,real Vaquero-you know what i mean---it is the Sheriffs model,blue w/case hard color,and Birdshead grip[black micarta?]--45 LC-hardly shot,looks as new-no box----What would be a fair price to ask?? Thanks Paul

The going rate of those is probably $399 to $499 maybe $599 to the right buyer, but I would not think it would fetch the highest price to an educated buyer.

Yep, my asking price would be about $500 as well. But without the box I probably wouldn't turn down $450 cash.

About a year ago the price might have been higher, but with Ruger's recent limited run of birdshead New Vaqueros they seem to have cooled off just a little. Most everybody who had been looking for one bought one of the new ones. And the birdshead frame is one of those things that shooters either love or hate, so you might have a little smaller market than you would have otherwise.

I was just thinkin that if it is one of the earlier, large-frame/plain "Vaqueros" (WILL shoot "Ruger Only Loads")....... It might fetch a good price against the mid-frames that Ruger currently builds.

I agree....to some extent.....but I think that anyone who shoots "Ruger only" .45 LC loads out of a gun with a 3 3/4" barrel and birdshead grips is going to find it extremely unpleasant after only a few rounds.

I would say that as good of a configuration as this was in the large frame Vaquero, it is even BETTER in the smaller frame New Vaquero. Even better yet are the .32 Single Six birdsheads, in my opinion.

I'd say around $400 give or take $30

... I've paid as little as $299 for used Vaqueros of longer length.

i will save you the trouble of finding a buyer and offer 475.00 shipped with no box. What do you say? __bedrockfred

Did you shoot out a PM?... probably the better way to make an offer.
