After my other post,, I wanted to say something else.
I have never needed a day to remind me of how special Miss Penny is. Nor do I need a special day to do things together, give her little things, or whatever. Nope,, to us, every day is Valentine's day.
Sadly,,,, too many people are clueless about how to treat a loved one.

Stay busy Bob. Do whatever you can to lift your spirits. Perhaps a visit to church today and some time with your pastor is called for. Prayers for you from Oregon.
Edit: I just saw your post "Dou you suppose"? I'm happy to see you had a function at church for today.
Each day is Valentine Day at my house. We attempt to acknowledge how much each of us is intertwined with the other. We need no commercial prompted day to realize how special each of us is to the other.
Well, my wife of 41 years (next week), loves chocolate and flowers as much as anyone, but she loves a good steak or any good cut more. I knew she was a keeper on the first date. Women sometimes won’t finish a meal or order a very light menu item. My small date ordered crab and a filet, wine, salad and baked potato. She left a clean plate. We went to the symphony, Handel’s Messiah, and then had a indulgent dessert at another restaurant. A women that won’t waste my money on food left uneaten. By the way, just in case you are thinking that she overeats, she weighs 5 pounds more than she did on our first date 43 years ago, and is still small.
