V for Victory

Victory Model S&W that is. My father in-law (now deceased) was a Navy Pilot in WWII. This was his Navy issued S&W .38 special. Mother in-law gave it to me and my wife several years ago. We also have his hat (pictured), aviator glasses, leather flight jacket, Navy issued Robeson Shur-Edge knife with wooden pommel, issued shoulder holster, etc., etc.

Very nice, looks like it was well maintained throughout the years. A truly excellent tribute to your wife's father and his service to our country.

Now THAT is truly a family heirloom and one hell of a great "package", great shape too, and yes, very collectible and the rig would be well worth in excess of $750.....as they say ,MORE at auction, and I would NEVER auction that set off..........awesome
add the value of the jacket to that and probably double it........

and the cost to keep it in the family....priceless :wink:

Love that second picture. Really tells a story. Optically, the first is better, but the second really speaks.

If you don't have offspring, you folks should consider donating the entire package to the WWII museum in New Orleans in your will. They really value these type of items.
