that a local Amish harness maker made for me . Nothing fancy but well made and should prove to be a good hunting rig .

Nice; real sturdy. Looks a lot like one my local shoe repair guy made for me for my 3" GP. He's from Guatemala and calls it a "sacapistola". Mine has a snap-down top flap like a military holster he once saw "back home," instead of the safety strap.
 
Simple, straightforward, and to the point. It'll probably last you the rest of your life. A perfect example of form following function.
 
On my list of things to do, gun-wise is get a Amish harness maker/cobbler, over in Mespo Ohio to make me up something like that. Ask the hide stretchers here how to treat the raw edges. Guess I'd rub in a bunch'a Snow Seal, and cook it in with a blow dryer...carefully. You can warm the Snow Seal first, rub on, then place in the sun too. I would like to hear other methods used too. stevemb
