Big contract for Magpul.

The Marine Corps has approved Magpul Industries Corp.'s signature polymer ammunition magazine for use in combat and training, according to a Magpul press release.

Magpul is a private company that manufactures weapon accessories and tactical apparel to include ammunition magazines, buttstocks, weapon sights, slings and grips.

"The Magpul GenM3 PMag was the only magazine to perform to acceptable levels across all combinations of Marine Corps 5.56mm rifles and ammunition during testing. That magazine has, therefore, been approved for use for both training and combat," Marine Corps Systems Command (MARCORSYSCOM) told Military Times.

That's about all I use and not like I shoot a ton , never had a bad one yet , a malfunction due to the mag , or wore one out yet. Our young men that are asked to put themselves in harms way deserve nothing but the best and let's hope they function as such when they need 100% reliability!

Great company, not just for the products they produce but the people who run it. I'm happy for them they deserve it. I have no doubt this will mean major $ for them. It's nice to see good work be rewarded, it's oddly rare that happens in this world.

Hey also I was just thinkin- Do you think they are ramped up enough to fill what must be a huge government order? Will there be any short term delays in supply of magazines to civilians? I believe in the case of Federal Ammunition their policy is military orders 1st priority, everyone else second.

Or will they be able to supply both the military and their commercial market without interruption?

This competition has been going on for a couple years. I have no doubt that Magpul is ready to deliver on it, especially since existing stocks in the Corps inventory will remain until they wear out or disappear  .

Niw if Big Army will officially authorize the use of Magpul mags. Soldiers have been using them since the beginning of the GWOT - unofficially, and against the official position. Their excuse is 'they haven't been tested.' Not officially, anyway. I'd call 17 years of combat use pretty thorough testing.
