Used 10/22

Just picked up a used 10/22 this week , got it from a pawn shop for 125.00 because it had a couple chunks out of the stock, pieces included. They had it marked for 179.00 but he said 125.00 would get it out the door. Thought that was a good deal , also went to my local GS next and sitting in the corner was a plastic 10/22 stock I gave 20.00 for . I'm not sure what model 10/22 this is , I believe it's a sporter ( not sure of the name spelling ). If some one could tell me how to load pics in a post I have some.[/list]

Here's some pics , thanks for link BTW . Going to glue the pieces back in and see how it turns out. This is my 1st 10/22 so I'm not real familiar with them but for 145.00 total didn't think it was a bad deal.

Put it in the plastic stock to take to the range today , good shooter, as good as my Modle 60 Marlin

Thats a nice older Walnut stock, its worth repairing. Those and the DSP models are my favorites. $125 is a good price for a used 10/22 since you can't really wear them out and even if you do replacement parts are dirt cheap, and they have almost as many goodies as the AR15.

I got the piece behind the receiver glued back on if you look real close you can tell other wise if you didn't know it's not obvious. I have one of 2 pieces for the butt stock going to check back with the pawn shop see if they found the other one. The guy told me he dropped it and that's how it got damaged also why he dropped the price.

You got a great deal and did good. Now the good and bad part is putting even more money into the rifle. But in my opinion that is fun.

If I found a 10/22 for $125 I'd be out of there with it so fast they would not know what hit them... the gov. paper work would probably be smoldering.

You did vry good. Figure an action is $90-$100 and I'm seeing the aluminum trigger assemblies go as high as $75. The stock...
You did GOOD!

Now the fun - and addiction - begins.

I knew this was an older gun and looks to have been around the block a few times so I figured it would be a project. I like the fact that it's older with metal trigger housing and rich stock( if I can repair it) Can some one tell me aprox when it was made S/N 117-487## ?

Thanks, that's a good vintage I suspect. After a good needed cleaning then a trip to the range yesterday it ran flawlessly, even shot up the rest of a box of Winchester X that my other .22's didn't care for , your right, now the fun begins new sights/ optics then only your wallet is the limit LOL
