Funny, my son in law just got a cool new grey laminate stock big lever Rossi .357 with a Burris scout scope sighted in tight and is in KCK city limits and no legal Kansas tags posessed.
He sent me that pic with boo hoo
Agree he looks rutted up........here, the rut is very late. We had a week of unusual cold in mid OCT but it's ben very warm since. Heck we still have bachelor groups coming in. The bigger boys have for the most part spread out and are only seen just before dark. Aside from some minor "sparring" between the young goofy spikes, forks and tiny basket bucks there has been no real signs of rut behavior. There are a couple roads where they cross, and every year you would start seeing a rub line on both sides.....nothing. Haven't seen any chasing or bucks bothering the does. Usually see at least a couple bucks defending a bedded doe by now. I didn't get any cams up this year unfortunately wasn't able to. If I do kill something this year it will be from my deck and my Son best be home on leave. I could probably get on the 4 wheeler and tow it back to house on the deer sled but no way I'm getting it into a truck bed. But then, from what I've seen, there is only one shooter buck I have marked and he's one that has started showing up just before dark.

Haven't seen any "urban deer" since we moved to Wyoming - of course, the mountain lions that have been spotted inside city limits might be scaring 'em off...
