UPDATE on SR22 Junk

Went to LGS today they had 22lr CCI Velocitors. Having been where I bought the gun,he knew of problems. He told me if these CCI's did not work nothing would. Well I put 3 mags through it non stop. So I loaded a mag with mini mags not a problem. Mixed next mag with Feds, mini mags and yes thunder bolts. Not a problrm maybe it is going to be OK. Jerry

Yeah, some .22 pistols can be a bit ammo sensitive. I have an M&P22 that fails to eject and feed CCI Blazers about once per mag but runs CCI Mini-Mags flawlessly all day every day.

Jerry: in your previous thread, you never described precisely the condition of the gun when the trigger was not engaged ("It was not failing to eject or load the trigger just was not recocking."). Since the gun was not failing to feed or eject rounds, the cycling of the slide would not seem like the most probable cause of the problem.

The trigger on my wife's SR22 will move freely under three conditions: when the slide is locked back; when the thumb safety is in the down position (hammer is always decocked), and; when the magazine safety is engaged (hammer can be cocked or decocked).

You said in the previous thread that Ruger replaced the magazine release spring and magazine release on your gun. That might indicate that the magazine release was not capturing the magazine securely enough to disengage the magazine safety. On my wife's SR22, the magazine safety is engaged, allowing the trigger to move freely, until the magazine is within less than 1/16" of being fully inserted and locked into place. A magazine release, magazine tube, or combination of the two, might be out of spec enough so that the magazine would not reach high enough to consistently disengage the magazine safety and keep it disengaged.
