I was camped out in town the other day. I had set up in an empty patch of ground near the R/R tracks in East Talkeetna.
I was all settled in my bunk reading by 9:30 pm, when I caught a glimpse of movement out the rear window of the van.
I took this quick shot through the side door window.
Very cool... but very glad I wasn't outside using the bushes at the time!!

There is also a cow with two calves causing some havock just a mile down the road. she has been charging cars and such.. People have been taking care not to aggravate her for the sake of her young'uns. The bears get so many of them we have to try and help in any way we can..

reuben....

I see she has a big ding on her side...here in Anchorage many moose havs large scars...The other day on a trail I almost bumped into a cow laying down..she sprang to her feet head down ears back hackles up...I backed away then ran....she had about a 3 foot scar on her right rear quarter pannel....makes me wonder if she had a run in with a vehicle or predator....?

It's good to see more moose around.
Coming into Talkeetna today I had to brake hard for a cow and young calf crossing the road. The first baby I've seen this year. It was good to see that some of them make it!!
Other than having to rearrange the interior of the van that got thrown forward during the rapid stop, no harm was done...
But I sure keep a closer eye out now!

reuben..
