Ordered one and sent money in early October, now the 22nd of November and no grip! Check cleared right away, he has answered a couple of times and always says they are ready to ship. Just a warning for those of you who like these little gems, I have had several and always got fine service till now. When If I ever get one it will look great on my Security Six(stainless), love this gun.

I ordered one for my .45 LC/ .45 ACP round butt. It took well over a month for it to arrive, no contact. When it got here, it didn't fit right and I spent over 2 hours with a dremel to get it close. Then, it didn't do much for me. Now it's just $30 I'll never see again. I hope yours works better for you!

Tyler's has always been a very small operation - most of the time, one person. They do not maintain a big inventory, but generally wait to accumulate enough orders to make a run. I have dealt with them for decades and will do so again -- they're slow, but they have a quality product and have always delivered.

They've gone thru a lot of changes over the recent years, but even with different owners, they are still inconsistent with their shipping times. I agree with Pisgah, I think they wait until they have enough orders to complete a batch to make it worth their while. For some still unknown reason, they shut down in 2011 and even thou they continued to take orders, they didn't ship for many months on those orders, and they didn't reply to customer emails on those orders either. The company hasn't been the same since the inventor and owner Melvin Tyler passed away many years ago.

About 10 years ago, I was fortunate and found some of the original Melvin Tyler grips from the late 70's NOS still in the original packaging for my Security Six. I saved the box since they were the originals and had Melvin's first shop address on the box. They work well and do a good job on filling the skinny neck of the factory Security Six grip. It gives you more to grasp, in an area of the grip where there isn't any. This T grip is a nice tight fit with no gaps which you can see in the photo.

At today's prices, $30 is a pretty cheap test/experiment for almost any kind of gun toy.

I have a few T-Grips I play with from time to time. The only one that's found a long-term home is on a 2 1/2" Smith Model 19. It not only feels good, it fits right in with the whole character of the gun. Old-school cool!

I remember when you could buy these things for $10 NIB, or $5 used, at gun shows. I think I bought one used for $10 just a couple years ago.

Tyler's delivery and communication failures are ancient news. There's been a thread about it on S&W Forum for a number of years. Guess I've always been lucky when I ordered from them. Also, they're not hard to find for sale here or on other gun forums. I too use them on all my Six Series guns. Perfect fit and look to suit my tastes.

This circa 1960 Model 36 I recently picked up came with the T Grip and trigger shoe. This T Grip is old enough to be stamped "Melvin's T-Grip".

Nice, old school holster too.

Y'all are making me want to dig out my Chick Gaylord Handgunner's Guide and read it again for about the 50th time.

Over many years, the only time I had a fit problem was when I inadvertently ordered the wrong size for the gun I was putting it on.

Seeing the ones on the Ruger's is making me anxious to get it, have one on a Smith 10 and really like it, thanks.

I sold an older T grip on the S&W forum last week for a K frame round butt for $40. It sold immediately since Tyler shipping takes forever. Best bet to find one is to look on forums or auction sites.

Still no grip as of 12/6/17, in a couple of days it will be 3 months or 90 days, piss poor service or he took the bucks and ran.

Just heard from him, he was in a truck accident and will have his son look into it, believe him and wish him well.

I can recommend a dozen better ways to handle or manufacture their products, but obviously the family isn't interested in options...

Insofar as use/practicality - Like anything else grip-wise, if it works for you and your hands, stick with it!
A "T-gripped" Redhawk will be different than a K-frame, but it might improve comfort and therefore confidence, so you can practice more!

Got it this week, 12/27, nicely done, just wish I had gotten it a little sooner but all is well.

I just had a concerning slow shipment experience with them as well. I ordered a grip adapter for one of my security sixes. The check was posted to my bank account on 10/24/17, just received the adapter on 12/31/17. Ironically, it came in the mail box the day after I ran out of patience and called them, leaving a message to please look into my order. Quality product though and would order another if I desired one.

I have one on almost all my revolvers. my 1954 highway patrol has one,,,,,
T-Grips are for small guns! That beautiful old Highway Patrolman deserves a set of old-school genuine S&W Target Grips! Diamond "coke bottles," if you can find/afford them.

In theory, you're right. In fact, I find that Magnas plus a T-grip give me both much better control over a hard-kicker, even a Model 29, and a more comfortable carry. Not everyone has hands big enough for target grips.

I confess, I have a T-Grip on one Smith N, a 1917 .45ACP. Full target grips just look stupid on that long, skinny, fixed-sighted barred.

All my other square-butt Smiths of every size have Smith Targets. I have T-Grips on a couple of round-butted Ks.
