Tyler Grip Adapter Problems

The current owners of the Tyler Grip adapter company is having some serious shipping issues. Memebers of other forums have been waiting upward of a year. The problem would not be so bad if it wasn't that they make you pay up front.

If you paid by credit card, I believe you have up to 1 year to complain and the credit card company will debit Tylers account and put the payment back on your card.

I haven't ordered from them for a few months but guess I've been one of the lucky ones who calls on the phone, places the order and gets my product in 3 - 4 weeks.

They have been that way for a long time. I have read that Mr. Tyler had passed away and the family works out of their garage and they don't make the adapter until it is ordered. Very slow delivery!! I buy mine from guys who buy them from Tyler by the hundreds and re-sell them. If you can find them for sale by a dealer, they will most likely be cheaper than buying them direct....and a lot faster. I bought several about 1-2 years ago from a guy who used to sell them on the S&W Forum.

I talked to one of the sons a couple weeks ago and his dad was in bad shape, but was not dead. If he's passed... it just happened and they most certainly are not running the business out of a garage, the father left the whole shop in complete disarray.

I made my order right from the ol' man a few full moons ago, and he said that he had a shined-up bronze #8 ready to go out the door... he told me he just had to wait till others were ready to go as a complete order.

When doing my follow-up, the son told me his dad had orders written on napkins stacked up, the kids couldn't even find the manual for the the company telephone to change the message.

They're screwed... and I'm starting to think SO AM I!! :roll:

I ordered mine in May and would love my money or the product. I can't get through on the phone and don't have time to spend redialing.

I'm annoyed.

I just got off the phone with the gal from the answering machine, She said there have been many orders shipped out already.

Concerning my order, which was simply a matter of waiting to go out, and was ready to ship at the time the order was made, she couldn't tell me what happened to the #8 T-Grip... this was very disheartening and gave me little comfort.

She told me she would search for my part on the owner's desk, and if she can find it, she will ship it out herself.

Anyone want to buy a company? :roll:

Forget about purchasing T-Grips from mass sellers. D&J Gun Repair, Nachez, J&G and others have been out for a while. D&J told me that they did not like tying up thousands of dollar for many months waiting for an order.

I had my credit card company check and the last time I was able to use a CC with them was 2 years ago, since then checks.

From what I have been reading and talking to some friends in OK, I think the problem might be that some or all components now might be made in Mexico or China. I am working on testing my theory.
