After spending the better part of the day at various doctors' offices and closing it out at the pharmacy, I am now the proud owner of a severe sinus infection, an even worse ear infection and acute Bronchitis/bronchial infection.

Needless to say, I've had better days. Looks like it's bed/couch/bed for the weekend. Funny how we take our health for granted when we're well...

But, aside from being sick, I'm a miserable patient. I prefer to be left alone. Juanita, however, insists on lavishing tender loving care on me. It's ain't easy to accept all the attention, but I sure don't want to hurt her feelings. So, I'll try to be a good little patient and let the good doctor heal me.

Being sick sucks.

Wolfie, were those doctors at Costco, cuz it looks like they sold you the biggest package of horrid stuff in the store! One of those at a time is more than enough...

Good thoughts and a prayer come from down here that you recover quickly (that's for YOU), AND that you can be on your best behavior as a patient (that's for Juanita!) Hang in there, my friend...

I had a lifetime of sinus and ear/nose and throat problems right up until the time I had sinus surgery bout a year and a half ago. Since then no problems at all except maybe a headache once in a great while. I always thought the problem was because I lived in South Florida with all the pollen and humidity but it turned out it was me. I can even go without carrying a handkerchief now if I want to, but I don't, habits are hard to break.

Just getting over the bronchitis thing my self. It came with a pretty tough sore throat, one of the worst I've had. Missed three days of work and felt miserable for a week. Still have a nagging cough and sleep is hard to come by just now. Got plenty of rest and I believe that was the best thing, so as others have said just rest it out.

This guy goes to the doctor with a cold. Doctor tells him to take as hot a shower as be can stand, then go stand naked out in the snow til dry. How is that going to help the patient asked. Doctor replied. There is no cure for the common cold, this will give you pneumonia and we can cure that . Cheer up Wolfie, and let Juanita spoil you!

Must be going around. I've got the same thing, less the ear infection.

Got the flu shot, so I likely won't get that. But, why can't they find something for this type of crud. Seems I get at least one good dose every year.

With the bronchitis involved a nice hot toddy is more indicated, just a trifle less water with a trifle more honey and lemon. And a true bourbon, not Scotch or imitation whiskey (they are labeled blended.) Just remember the grumpier you are the more convincing it is you need nursing. If you want left alone you have two options, tell her you need sleep or tell her you absolutely despised the dress she wore on your first date. The latter is not recommended.

Just a hint for ear infection & sinus..
Lay with ear up..
One eye dropper full of hydrogen peroxide at or a little above body temp..
Place in ear and lay there until it stops fizzing.

To get some relief from pressure with sinus..
hold a hair dryer about a foot from your face on low heat..
breath in the warm air for 10 to 15 minutes.

Thought you sounded a little crackly the last time we spoke...
I can add little to the sound advice given above, that's for sure. Besides being lovely, Juanita must be a saint to put up with you as a patient...the mind reels!

The upside is that a woman's mere presence, let alone the care, helps us old guys heal faster. We know this.
The downside is, of course, they hover!
