Picture #2 in this sequence.Every series of bear pictures I got, started with a drink, then a bath.Places where a bear can submerge itself are really important in warm weather.

This is an old female bear that I have been aquainted with for over 10 years. She is probably in her late teens, maybe early 20's.She is the mother of the blonde/cinnamon bear above, who is also a sow and 6 1/2 years old.I have watched her grow since she was a tiny cub.
Your trailcam shots and you and Sixshots hunting stories are the best postings on this board, they are the biggest reason I even wander around the this forum.
This is the same bear in another draw about a half mile away. She should have bred in early June and be pregnant now.I have lost track of how many pairs of cubs I have seen her raise. Most of them are light cinnamon, like their dad but a few have been dark brown or black.
Brer fox has to drink too. This is an ancient water trough, formed by embedding two 2X12 pine planks in a seep.Water here, also runs clear and cold.Space between the planks is only 12" wide but bears still manage to get part way in it and wallow around enough to get cooled down.
