They have no responsibility for the kids if they are not in school.
It's like Geraldo Rivera and AL Capone's vault.... A big fat nothing for the most part. It's cloudy and overcast here so I think we will be dark for a few minutes and life will go on...I've lived thru many "once in a lifetime" events....... none required eye protection
We'll probably watch it on TV.... Sort of a ho-hummer (without the hummer).

I don't whether it's true or not but I heard that Joe Biden is going to use an executive order to cancel the eclipse. He says it's just a waste of time.

And it's so quiet. No traffic noises at all
And very interestingly, we are out back in our backyard.
No barking dogs. Usually our dogs try to talk to the neighborhood dogs.
But during the totality, no dogs were barking at all.
It’s over now and they just started barking again.

Well my wife and I were very impressed. It got dark, and as it was getting dark, it wasn't the normal light from a regular sunset.I've lived thru many "once in a lifetime" events....... none required eye protection

And the timing was spot on. Dark at 1:41 until 1:44 and change.
I do agree though there are many "once in a lifetime events." While this makes the list, and is definitely "oh-so-cool" it isn't #1…it will be remembered for many years though.
Well, that was very cool. Temperature here dropped 7*, we still have some snow on the ground, perhaps that has something to do with the drop. Like Kevin said, the lighting was strange, and it got darker than I expected. Corona was impressive.

Well I went down on our hunting lease. Logging crew long ways of but cood clearly make out cutting machine. When it started getting dark they shut down. Couple minutes before total I hooted and sure enough Bird gobbled!! Now would He have gobbled anyways, you guess as good as mine. I really enjoyed the Eclipse!!

Was a perfect day for it here. Not a cloud in the sky, no wind, about 70 degrees.
They said we’d have something like 90% coverage here. Seemed about right as I saw it.

But I would imagine that where it was 100%.... (like Texas...
) it would indeed be "cool"; and my jaded reaction would be different.

I got really busy today and missed most of the event. Finally dug out a welding mask to took a couple of looks just to say I'd seen it.

I was driving home this afternoon from my church where I had attended the funeral of a friend of mine. This just before 2:00 p.m. and it looked much like I had my sunglasses on. ThenI noticed oncoming traffic all had their headlights on, then mine indicated headlights on. As I passed, stores and parking ots had thier lights on. After about ffteen miknutes my headlights turned off, and oncoming traffic began turning off their headlights.
Can't say if the chickens went to roost.

Thought I'd share my eclipse experience today also... From what I understand we're supposed to get about an inch of eclipse in the next 4days...

The Austin skyline lit up during the totality yesterday at 1:30pm.
I never really seen one yesterday on our walk a nice neighbor had a pair of the glasses man that was really sharp beautiful glad we got to see it
