Tornado in Dallas Area

The FOX 4 Weather team confirmed a tornado in the Dallas Love Field area just after 9 p.m., moving east, and it reportedly touched down near 635 and Skillman near the Richardson and Garland city boundaries just before 9:30 p.m.

There are currently no longer any Tornado Warnings in effect for North Texas.

There is a lot of damage near Walnut Hill in northwest Dallas following the severe weather.

A Tornado Watch has been issued for most of North Texas until 2 a.m. Monday.

I’m relieved that no lives were lost. It seems late in the year for a tornado.

Talked with friends who live near there. Touchdown near Love Field and went east. There was another that struck a few miles south of them along hwy 75.
Iirc one of their sons work in Richardson.
I was through all those areas just a month ago.

I live right around the area. There were lots of tornado sirens going off around us. But we were extremely lucky. No branches down from trees or anything. We lost power, but not for very long, and it’s back on now.

Several Dallas schools are closed today because of damage from the storm.

Back in June, there was a terrible storm. Many, many large trees down throughout our neighborhood. But there wasn’t a tornado then, just strong winds.

And today? It’s a Beautiful day here. Sunny and 70 some degrees.

We got 10 minutes of dime sized hail and one inch of rain. I stayed up til the second (cold) front came thru with its 60 mph winds. and then went to bed. Woke up to a crystal clear sky and 55 degrees.

That system passed through the Memphis area this morning. Tornado warnings were issued early this morning but passed northeast of Memphis. Small towns east of Memphis are still under the alert as of 10:00 a.m. Monday, 10/21/2019.
