THERE IS MORE THAN ONE WAY TO SKIN A CAT...AN OLD SAYING FROM DECADES AGO. !!!

Tolerance
Jiggs McDonald, NHL Hall of Fame broadcaster speaking in Ontario, says,

"I am truly perplexed that so many of my friends are against another
mosque being built in Toronto. I think it should be the goal of every
Canadian to be tolerant regardless of their religious beliefs. Thus the
mosque should be allowed, in an effort to promote tolerance."
“That is why I also propose that two nightclubs be opened next door to
the mosque; thereby promoting tolerance from within the mosque. We
could call one of the clubs, which would be gay, "The Turban Cowboy,"
and the other, a topless bar, would be called "You Mecca Me Hot."

“Next door should be a butcher shop that specializes in pork, and adjacent

to that an open-pit barbecue pork restaurant, called "Iraq of Ribs."

“Across the street there could be a lingerie store called "Victoria
Keeps Nothing Secret," with sexy mannequins in the window modeling

the goods.”, and on the other side a liquor store called "Morehammered."

“All of this would encourage Muslims to demonstrate the tolerance they

demand of us.” Yes we should promote tolerance, and you can do your

part by passing this on."

And if you are not laughing or smiling at this point... It is either
past your bedtime, or it's midnight at the oasis and time to put

your camel to bed!

Like so often, humor is often based in truth! Some folks demand tolerance, yet when faced with an identical type of situation, they do not accept it. They only want it one way.

Here in this country, we can have Baptists, Catholics, Methodists, Episcopalians, etc. all with churches in the same block. You don't see them fighting against another church. BUT, if a nightclub, a gunshop, a liquor store etc wants to open in the same block, they will rally together against it. It's not just muslims, it's ALL religions.

But I do enjoy the OP's post, and would GLADLY see them do exactly that. Allow a mosque. Then, also allow all the above mentioned businesses, and see which ones make the most money!

I don't believe that the religion of Islam itself is a problem for the U.S., it is those adherents of that faith that support radicalism and terrorism through jihad that are the problem. A solution is suggested from history. Japan historically did not want the influence of foreigners because they understood how Western culture could corrupt the traditional Japanese culture. So when they first began allowing trade with the West, they had some very interesting practices to try to shield themselves from Christian missionaries that they believed would have a negative impact upon their culture. As seaman from Western countries' ships would leave their ship and enter Japan, they would be forced to step upon a large Christian cross painted on the ground. In some case they would be required to spit upon a Christian bible before being allowed to actually enter Japan. It was assumed that no devout missionary would do these things, and that the common seaman who would step and spit as asked was not a threat to Japanese culture.

Today, where we have good reason to be suspicious of Muslims because of the minority that seeks our destruction, we could require, as part of the process of coming to this country, that they step on and spit on the flag of jihad, or some other public renunciation of radical Islam. They would not need to renounce Islam, only radicalism and terroristic jihad. Sort of like a loyalty oath. Maybe such renunciations could be part of the daily prayers at mosques in America. Certainly no Muslim who wants to be a good American should have any objection to publicly proclaiming their non-support of the terrorist part of their religious community.

One thing I've noticed. A person can have deeply spiritual values and beliefs but if they do not "fit" the model of some of the organized religions..there is some lack of tolerance..sort of "our way or no way"..

I attended a funeral for a man that was very involved in his church..strong beliefs and a devout man. He never once, in all the time I knew him attempted to "lead" us his direction. When his service was underway the preacher announced that if folks attending the funeral wanted to be baptized they could do so after the service and if anyone did not choose to follow the "leadings" of that church they could never go to heaven and were destined to hell.

That cleared about half of the folks that were there to honor "Earl". I didn't see much tolerance in that situation.

Texas State Representative Molly White asked muslims who came to her office to make such an oath denouncing radicalism and terrorism. She also displayed a flag of Israel.

From the massive public outcry against her you would have thought she was the sole sponsor every evil that has ever beset our world. Page after page after page of outcry denounced her evil request. Even people of the Jewish faith denounced her. I was frankly shocked. She eventually refused to print negative remarks from people outside of her district.

So, asking muslims to swear an oath of loyalty or to denounce terror or terrorist tactics is apparently a bad thing. One can only wonder what a good thing regarding muslims could ever be.

Them dead would be nice. :x That's what they wish of us regardless of all their protestations to the contrary. Time to call a spade a spade. It's time to face the face that they want us to either convert to their unholy religion or they will kill us. I don't plan on going like a sheep to the slaughter. Do you?

In my opinion, this country is currently reaping the reward of being "tolerant", right now...on many fronts. If you look at the degradation in our society over the last 50yrs, "tolerance" has failed to bode well for us.
