Today's acquisition ... custom Mark IV

Been wanting a Mark IV for awhile and came across this awhile back and secured it today. A Turnbull Mark IV target. Just ordered the Volquartsen trigger kit and debating on whether to add wood hand grips. Also going to put a red dot on it, my aging eyes will thank me.

Stock Rocks! …it is screaming for a pair of factory wood grips though

Grips that fit YOUR hands are often better than factory. Adding a set of grip panels before trying to "upgrade" it with aftermarket internal parts was more of my focus.

I have a Hogue grip and a HiViz sight on mine(for my kinda old eyes)…fits me like a glove.

What a beautiful pistol. The case hardening looks amazing. I have the MKII and I bought it from Gunbroker. It was already set up for Bullseye competition and has tons of mods., including the bolt face being trued. Quite an excellent shooter. Wish I had done more research before I bought it. I would have liked a MKIII or later model better.

Nice, I bought one when Turnbull first started offering them, Opted for the larger Ruger target grips when ordering it. They fit very well and are comfortable. I think they still sell them on ShopRuger.com.

Nice! I’ve been drooling over those for a couple of years now.

I prefer the balance of the taper barrels so I’ve been holding out for a 4.25” Standard but I might cave and “settle” for the 6” Standard.

The early Standard 6“ is still my favorite of them all. Probably because it was my first Ruger pistol.
