I think you need to go back and check your data or scale. Seriously if you are using 270 or 300gr bullets in the 44mag that looks like an over-charge.
Anything more than about 20.0gr is liable to bend something.

Jimbo, I was not using those 270 or 300g Speers in the first photo. What that load is for is a 180g XTP. I specifically am using 31.3g and Hodgdon's data for the 180g XTP is 31.5g max.

With that much H110 in those cases, what will be bent is the spines of people in adjacent lanes at the range tomorrow when I go to shoot them. Even with hearing protection, people are sure to throw their backs out of whack when they are startled and suddenly jump backwards! :D

Just a nice stout load ... nothing to get excited about.

I'm glad to hear you are loading 180gr bullets on top of that charge.

My indoor handgun range makes me go into the rifle section now because the concussion from my 44mags was knocking the insulation from the roof. 8) 8)

Jimbo, you are quite lucky to have rifle lanes in your range. My range where I shoot is mostly pistol only. You can shoot low velocity 45-70 loads or 5.56mm and 7.62mm frangible loads. There is a 25yrd rifle rated range also. But I just like the range where I shoot despite it being farther away.

But if your 44Magnum is knocking the insulation loose, I wonder how badly a 500 Smith will do the same? :)
