I can field strip 'em but still trying to work up the nerve to tear one of my Blackhawks completely down. :)
tek4260, the front sight is a Blackhawk sight shaved down some, drilled and screw attached. aint real pretty but it works.

I've never had more than one gun apart at one time either. Not that I'm afraid of mixing up parts--I'm just not a multi-tasker! Thought never even occurred to me.
As far as taking apart a Blackhawk, gunman42782 is correct--the old models are slightly easier, but I've had a New Model completely torn down before (replaced the hammer and grip frame) and put it all back together again. Wasn't too bad. Just make sure you have a nice set of hollow ground screwdrivers.
