Cool... They are Sid Ryan grips. They come natural and black; but I add a little of the brown to them to try to make them look more realistic.

Hi,

They look good on my screen!

Just wondering: will natural oils from one's hand change the bright white to a more subtle ivory like real stag/bone does?

According to Sid Ryan's description, they do age and yellow a bit.

I used Fiebing's Pro Oil Dye in Saddle Tan to add the brown touches and then seal with clear paint. I use a Q-tip and dot the color on so it will have subtle unevenness. They required only a little fitting which was done easily with file and sandpaper.

Those look good I like the added brown. I like Sid Ryan imitation stags, I added a set to a little 32 project I did. I thought the smooth part on mine were a little too shiny so I touched them up with some 800 grit. Mine are starting to "age" a little.

Lay them out in the direct summer sun for a week... they will naturally yellow as the UVA/UVB rays from the sun do their thing to the polymer... or in this case perhaps even the clear coat you applied. Also a good way to "age" new gun leather... turns a saddle tan color to a more "seasoned" looking and richer tone. The sun does the same thing to our skin over time... ages it rather. :)
