I saw that on the news today. There is something fishy about the picture. But I guess it could be a Bobcat pulling a shark outa the surf. They said it was near Sebastian Inlet State Park but that is a small park in an isolated place. The Cat does have some black spots on the legs but the overall color and body size/shape doesn't seem right. Perhaps it's a hybrid Panther/Bobcat.

Looks like a cougar to me, especially if that shark is 4 feet long.

That is the strangest Bobcat I have ever seen, the shape is all off. If that shark is 4 feet long that has to be a cougar with a bobbed tail.

Looks like they took a distant picture of a lion for the front and a close up a bobcat for the rear and stuck them together or its one of those swamp monsters they have down south :lol: :lol: :lol: :lol:

No bobcats that size in these parts even the Lynx will not reach that size.
I think they average 20 lbs or so. Heck that fish could have been over 20. ps

Yea, me too. I wonder how Harvey our pet alligator is doing these days. He was (well we called him a he, no one really knew what sex he was) just a small fellow of about 7' in the mid 70's. He ought to be all grown up by now.

There is absolutely nothing in that picture to prove scale. it could be a large Manx and I tiny shark, or another kind of fish.

IIRC, several years ago another large cat was introduced to Florida to deepen the gene pool for the Florida Panther as the few remaining in the wild had become severely inbred. that area is not very populated and I could see a cat living in the protected dunes quite comfortably

I use to drive down from Orlando to Fort Myers on Sunday nights so I could be on the job Monday AM. Learned ALL the back county roads including the REAL short cut through a slightly "swampy" area. There in my headlights was this big "CAT" and I thought "WHATTHEHELL??" and then it dawned on me that what I had seen was a Florida Panther Crossing the road. He was no little kitty cat fer sure !!
