It's a shooting match for striker fired pistols, any make or model, rapid fire or close to it on a specified downloadable target at 50'.

http://www.rugerforum.com/phpBB/viewtopic.php?t=90235

This is the perfect opportunity for both SR9 & SR9c owners and other makes of striker fired pistol owners to show their stuff.

Lets see some targets!

**I have decided to bow out of the match (I shoot like this all the time, so it might be a bit unfair) but will leave my targets up and I will offer a fairly modest "tactical" prize to the winner.**

....and the prize is a CRKT M-16 locking folding knife and it does look "tactical"

The pistol shown for size comparison is not included in the prize.

Well, I won't make it this time. I'm having cataracts removed (both eyes) and so my vision will be screwed up for a while. I hope to get with you guys on this target stuff, though, in a month or so. I do have a SR9c that's up to the challenge; but I'm not quite there yet. Have fun.
BTW, your targets are great. I've printed off a few for the future.

Sonnytoo, I hope everything goes well with your surgery.

That target is a real good one, at 50' the red center sets up nice in the sights.

Cheeze, is there an ammo shortage or what?

I don't think so, I read about all these guys buying Federals a Wallyworld for $9.47 on this forum. Maybe the boxes are too hard to open, someone should look into that.

I'm going to try to go do some shooting in the next couple of days. I wanted to do it before now but I have been too busy. I will actually be once more gainfully employed this Wednesday so my forum & shooting time may be a little harder to get in. I should have more money for ammo though.

Mike, the last guy me and Armed were kidding with was you, you would try to shoot a potato chip at 200 yards. :D

That would be the worlds safest potato chip Cheese. I believe it would be pretty safe at 25 yards.

I would like to see some of the SR9 SR9c folks post some targets. It would be interesting to see how the what kind of targets come from the different striker fired models.

I said you would try, I didn't say you would hit it!

You are a shooting enthusiast, I read most of your posts. You sound like you're all in on a day at the range, I like that.

Well I'm done with my shooting of striker fired pistols, I think at least for awhile.

I shot my own SR9 and that target is posted in the match.

That was followed in order by a G17, a S&W M&P (4.25" barrel), a G19, a Springfield XD9 and a SR9c.

I learned a lot while doing this over the past few weeks. The biggest thing was you can fire a couple of mags through a friend's gun and think you know it and you really don't.

I shot warm ups with each gun on a silhouette at 50' and sped things up until I thought I was ready to shoot the match target.

I ended up liking some of these guns, I ended up hating one gun, one gun had a single malfunction, some had sights that had some issues but in all it was fun.
I'll post the other targets in the match post later on.
...and as previously stated I'll write a little more detailed report in this part of the forum after the end of this month.

I'm suprised Rev hasn't busted out his G-26 to show off his Mad Skilz.

I'll see if I can get to the range tommorrow ... can't do it today and going out of town Fri. I'm not big on rapid fire, so don't expect much if I get to it !! I'm kind of more into slower deliberate shooting.

REV

...I have added what the prize is for this match along with a picture to the first post in this thread.

I asked Armed to add the pic to the first post of the match thread.

That is a very nice prize you are offering Cheese. Very generous.

Dang Cheese is offering a very nice prize for this match. The only ones that have posted targets so far are myself & Armed. Don't any of you SR9/SR9c shooters want to defend Rugers honor & possibly win a very nice knife in the process? If no one else posts up to this the prize will either go to a Glock shooter or an XD shooter since Cheese is taking himself out of the competition. I would think ya'all would want to show the SR series can hang with the Glocks & XDs.

Alright guys, it's the last weekend before the end of this shooting match.
Let's see some targets in this months shooting match.
We've had some spirited discussions about capabilities of different striker fired pistols in the past. This is the time to show what you and your gun can do.

The Ruger Chicken Dance. :?

Now that is funny.

I'm trying to think how I will respond to the next internet commando and his awesome stories about his striker fired pistol prowess.

Last chance for an SR9/c owner to post up a target.

Is a Springfield XD really going to win the RugerForum shooting match?

You know what is sad Armed? The SR9 and the SR9c, as guns, are both capable of shooting this match just fine. The only SR9 target posted is mine and it doesn't count as I bowed out. I hoped others would have jumped on this match but no other Ruger SR9/c shooters stepped up. I will say this, the long time Ruger SR9 bashers also didn't post jack squat as far as targets.
