I was checking on my ammo supply, and noticed the price on some Wolf 45acp, box of 50, that I bought not so long ago. It was $11.99. For years I held on to a 500 round brick of 22lr that had the original price tag on the package, $9.95 but I shot those up awhile ago. How time has changed things.

Vito. time passes, things change. some for the good, in my humble opinion, mosty for the bad. but in the old days, cave man used "clubs" to drag the woman back to the cave for date night....lol. we all are old goats now!
Just think....These will be the good old days for someone...

One year ago I loaded 100 cartridges for a brother in law’s 44 Henry Golden Boy and noticed the price on the primers was $1.78. The store where they were bought has been out of business for too many years to remember. With all of the ingredients and my cast bullets, I told him they were about $2.00 a shot.

At $2.00 a shot,, and primers only $1.78 for a hundred,, that powder & the bullets must have been very expensive! Oh wait,, I forget that callshot casts silver bullets for the werewolves.
What we stopped doing that? When?
I remember shooting Ruger 22 pistols in a friends garage in the winter it was 45' across. He had a big wood stove and we would put a big chunk on wood on each side and staple a target to it. We bought 555 round boxes of Federal 22's at Walmart for 8.88. Many times we would hop in my truck and drive about 7 or 8 miles to Walmart and buy 3 or 4 boxes each when we ran out. Those were the good old days.

I first started reloading in the early 80's and IIRC I was paying $9-$10 for 1K of primers. The last ones I bought was before the pandemic and they were $30 per thousand, I haven't needed to buy at currrent prices due to a stockpile. The difference is that I bring in a heck of a lot more money now than I did back then. (Just looked, I earned $11,510 in 1982 as an Air Force E-5). The good ole days weren't always so good.
I quit buying 22 lr ammo when 5000 round cases hit $185 delivered. Maybe a mistake? Then I got a chance to buy a 20K mixed lot for less than $300. I didn't let that get away.

Tyrone, you gots to figure in my labor is what adds to the quality and price. Just lead bullets. I was trying to let him know that just because they were his Christmas gift, that they weren’t cheap.
